Luka Modric is a Croatian professional football player. He was born on 9 September 1985, currently at 36, Playing as a midfielder for Laliga club Real Madrid and captaining the Croatian national team of Croatia. He is regarded as one of the best midfielders and the Star of the Croatian football team. 

Luka Modric’s Early Life 

Modric was born in Zadar, Croatia, on September 9, 1985. Croatia was at war during his childhood, which led his family to displacement, which has been the ultimate challenge for him to play football. In 2002, at 16, Modric was signed by GNK Dinamo Zagreb. After the impeccable performances with his hometown club NK Zadar’s youth team, he continued his development journey in Dinamo Zagreb.

Modric made his international debut against mighty Argentina in March 2006. In a friendly match against Italy, he scored his first goal for his country. Modric has embedded Croatia’s “2nd Golden Generation” he has made sure to participate in every major tournament Croatia has qualified for, including the UEFA European Championship in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2006, 2014, and 2018. The Croatian giant Modric has bagged several trophies throughout his career. He has been the winner of the Club World cup “4” times, including the UEFA Champions League winner for a record of “5” times. He has also bagged the Spanish champion trophy thrice and made sure to have the Spanish Super Cup in his cabinet “3” times.  Modric has won the Croatian championship three times with Dinamo Zagreb. Records Held by Luka Modric

The climax of his FIFA tournaments was when he won the Golden Ball award for the competition’s best player. The following year, he also won the FIFA Ballon D’or. In March 2021, he became Croatia’s most capped player in history. Furthermore, he has been The Croatian Footballer of the Year, a record of ten times between 2007 and 2021. At Euro 2008, he was named in the Team of the Tournament, Modric became only the second Croatian to achieve this feat, but the best is yet to come in his career. He has also represented The Croatian team in the FIFA World cup three times.
