Alphonso Davies’s Early life:
Alphonso Davies was born in Buduburam, Ghana, on Nov 2, 2000. His parents, Victoria and Debeah Davies, left their home in Monrovia because of the Second Liberian Civil War. When he was five years old, they relocated to Canada.
Alphonso Davies’s Career:
In 2014 and 2015, Davies was invited to multiple Canadian U15 and U18 camps. He was selected for the Canada U20 team’s match against England on Mar 17, 2016. Davies played as a Canadian U17 center when he scored against Jamaica and won the title of Canada U17 Male Player of the Year. He said in an interview in March 2017, “One of his dreams is to be able to represent Canada.” After completing the citizenship test, Davies became eligible to play for the Canadian National Team after initially being allowed to represent the Liberian national team. He was included in a senior squad against Curaçao that same day. Davies was added to the CONCACAF Gold Cup squad on May 30, 2019. Davies was included in the Canada team for CONCACAF Gold Cup in July 2021. Davies has been selected for the Canadian team to compete in the CONCACAF Nations League in 2022–2023.

In the Champions League match against Barcelona, Davies assisted Joshua Kimmich on his goal, and his team ultimately prevailed 8-2.
