Samuel Eto’o, one of Africa’s all-time best players, participated in promotional activities for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM in Cameroon, Senegal, and Ghana.
Eto’o, a former player for Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Chelsea, visited with dignitaries and supporters in each of the three countries that will compete in the championship competition from 20 November to 18 December.
To convey the spirit of Africa via their support, musicians and performers in all three nations have created brand-new songs, dances, and performances, particularly for Qatar 2022. In Cameroon, Eto’o conducted a practice exercise for more than 100 young footballers and met with amazing young athletes along the way.
He also conducted briefings for spectators who intended to see the match to go through lodging options, the Hayya Card application procedure, and various thrilling activities and experiences.
As a former Qatar Sports League player, Eto’o’s exploits gave the fans a personal backdrop they enjoyed and drew similarities to Africa that resonated with the cultures of all three contesting nations. Eto’o, a four-time FIFA World Cup representative for Cameroon, said, “There is so much excitement here about this year’s event.”
The fans are eager to participate in the unique environment that this World Cup will create and to have the opportunity to interact with visitors from all over the world while they are in Qatar. Eto’o’s next destination was Senegal, where he spent three days.
Senegal now has higher World Cup prospects thanks to their recent victory at the CAF African Nations Cup. During his visit, Eto’o met with the press, supporters, and influencers, in addition to players from the Senegal team that advanced to the 2002 FIFA World CupTM quarterfinals. As the top scorer in Senegal’s history and a member of Bayern Munich, Sadio Mane also paid a visit to the Académie Génération Foot.
The journey ended with a three-day trip to Ghana, where Eto’o met enthusiastic supporters eager to discuss the team’s prospects at the World Cup. This involved meeting with supporters to watch a game in a nearby restaurant and making appearances on Ghanaian radio and television. It was a joy to meet with my Senegalese and Ghanaian brothers and sisters and learn more about their World Cup preparations, Eto’o added. “Both nations have a long history in football and have proudly represented Africa in important competitions.”
